Okoume and flame maple combine for a rich tone

The right tonewoods will set the tonal foundation for how a guitar will sound plugged in. For the AR420, Ibanez added a flame maple top to an okoume body. Flame maple doesn’t just look beautiful, it enhances the rich tonality and sustain of the okoume body. The result is a powerful sound that can sound warm and soulful or aggressive and biting when you match it up with the appropriate amplifier.

Sonic flexibility from Tri-sound electronics

The AR420 is equipped with a pair of Tri-sound switches to unlock three different “voices” per pickup.
