Erick Hansel Signature AZ-series Guitar
on’s brand of progressive rock is complex enough to make a mathematician’s head spin, and the Ibanez EH10 is Erick Hansel’s — one half of the band’s twin guitar assault’s — weapon of choice. A walnut-topped nyatoh body yields a glorious blend of warmth, resonance, and sustain, with just a hint of bite. An ultra-stable roasted maple neck is topped with a smooth, fast-playing jatoba fingerboard. An HS configuration of Seymour Duncan pickups supplies a flexible range of tones. A full outfit of rock-solid Gotoh hardware — MG-T locking tuners and a T1502 tremolo — enables twisting, bending, and all-out dive-bombing without fear of dropping tuning during a set. The EH10 is a high-performance axe that exhibits the full gamut of vintage and modern tones.
Roasted maple neck and jatoba fingerboard
The EH10’s roasted maple neck offers increased stability, durability, water resistance, and tolerance to temperature changes. And it’s supremely comfortable — the edge of its jatoba fingerboard was finished with a smooth curve that extends through the border between the fingerboard and the neck to the fingerboard itself. Beyond that, this guitar’s AZ oval C-shaped neck fills your hand nicely at the lower frets, while providing a more modern feel when you’re playing up high. Luminescent side dots give you a great point of reference on dark stages.
Seymour Duncan pickups with coil split
The Ibanez EH10’s Seymour Duncan Hyperion bridge humbucker is among the most balanced-sounding we’ve heard here at AJ’s Music & The Music Man. It yields a moderate output and sports Alnico V magnets, which preserves the clarity of your fundamental tone in high-gain situations. You’ll also benefit from a dynamic and clear pick attack. A Seymour Duncan Alnico II Pro Tele single-coil neck pickup delivers sweet, hollow tones that sound great both clean and dirty. A mini-toggle switch activates a coil split, giving you access to a myriad of sonic textures.
Gotoh T1502 tremolo bridge
Developed in collaboration with Gotoh, the EH10’s T1502 allows for effortless string skipping and hybrid picking thanks to narrow string spacing. Loading the guitar’s tremolo arm is a breeze by virtue of the T1502’s snap-and-hold socket, and its arm torque adjuster allows for fine adjustments without any tools. The T1502’s stud lock screws lock the stud bolts in place, enhancing the instrument’s resonance and providing excellent tuning stability. Beyond that, the T1502’s 2-point floating tremolo system achieves an astoundingly smooth tremolo motion in either direction.
